“Ballgame Jesus” by Brandt Schubbe

Jesus went to
The baseball
Game today

Jesus cheered for
Both teams

Jesus pleased
Both teams
Jesus upset
Both teams

The glory of
Jesus shined
After the game
When both teams
Shook hands

In the end
It didn’t matter
Who won

Both teams were
Out of the
Pennant race

What mattered
Was that
The game was played

My name is Brandt Schubbe. I have been working on my craft of poetry for a few years. I have attended poetry bootcamps, poetry workshops, and poetry slams. I have published a chapbook of poetry called, Poems of the Inner Spark. Poetry to me defines the unnatural consciousness of reality.
